I (Rachel) bought a viola not too long ago! Nobody was kidding when they said this is one of the most difficult instruments to learn. I am slowly learning to respect people who have dedicated themselves to these stringed beauties since they were just children. Homeschooled, awkward, tomboy Rachel would have walked away from this at the sight of a soccer ball or worm digging expedition. Thankfully, I have progressed since age six, and am giving this a shot, no promises and no strings attached! …No pun intended. I truly hope I can master the viola soon enough to share on a future Deadhorse album and at future shows. ‘Tis the dream! If it doesn’t work out, my piano fingers are still here, as always. On a side note, I also have unusually strong hands (ask anyone in the band, I load equipment like a freaking champ), which has resulted in six broken strings…in the past few days.
Oh man Rachel I’ll be so stoked if you end up doing strings too! I want to learn viola/violin/cello so bad haha. Mad jealous!
